As a Senior Accountant within the Caterpillar IT Business Resources group, you will play a key role in providing business insights for leadership to use in investment decision making, in addition to having the opportunity to take the end-to-end financial lead in support of one of Caterpillar IT's Vice Presidents.
What You Will Do:
- Take lead role with the end-to-end financial support for one of Caterpillar IT’s Vice Presidents. Requires frequent interaction with Vice President and Directors within the organization.
- Act as a trusted advisor, supporting $200M+ of cost structure in the areas of budgeting, forecasting and internal management reporting.
- Lead cost-decision support activities and provide expertise on complex business and financial issues to assist Caterpillar IT Senior leadership in decision-making (significant investments and major business proposals).
- Business proposal development.
- Post Implementation Audit (PIA) completion and review where needed.
- Work with the Division Capital Coordinator to ensure the appropriate level of analysis is being provided for reporting purposes across Caterpillar IT.
- Engage and assist, where needed, with Caterpillar IT’s Offer to Sell process utilizing the TBM methodology, thus enabling the organization to understand the total cost of ownership of our services to the business.
- Provide a strategic focus and leads initiatives on complex financial and/or IT services issues.
- Champion the use of new technologies and tools, with laser focus on continuous improvement with data insights.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
What You Have:
- Education/Experience: This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field and 6+ years of job related experience.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Familiarity with Power BI analytics and reporting.
- Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams in multiple locations.
- Ability to analyze processes and procedures and identify opportunities to gain efficiencies.
- Proven track record of high levels of initiative, with the ability to take action and influence decisions to accomplish the goals of the organization.
Additional Info:
- Primarily location for this position is East Peoria, IL (Building AD). Irving, TX location will be considered.
- This is a full-time, Hybrid position and currently requires at least 3 days a week in the office.
