Summary
 

Supports actuarial services by providing research data, reports, and analysis of the profitability of existing and new lines of business.


Description
 

  • Assists with statistical and reporting functions, regulatory reporting, data testing, and research. Prepares and updates actuarial models and reconciles with financial statements.
  • Performs basic analysis of the rates and rating structures of competing programs to assist with competitive pricing decisions for various lines of business.
  • Provides support in various other studies and analysis that entails evaluation of future contingent events.
  • Maintains and enhances financial reporting databases.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field.

Required Work Experience:

  • No required work experience.

Required Training:

  • Successful completion of one Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exam.

Preferred Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of two Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exams.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Analyzes competing programs to assist with competitive pricing decisions
  • Develops actuarial computer models
  • Develops reporting for new product types
  • Documents submissions to state regulatory authorities
  • Performs profitability analysis to determine appropriate rates for various lines of business
