Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst

Location: Bengaluru - Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: The Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank Group to provide financial control functions and specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security and property.
CBA India Finance handles the financial activities of the Indian entity which includes accounting, business unit & group reporting, compliance, audit and secretarial functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation.

Impact & Contribution:

  • Contributes to an organisation by ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations, and providing expert advice and guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the existing core finance processes and offer recommendations for improvement to deliver high quality business outcomes
  • Supports the strategic planning and decision making of the organisation by delivering high-quality financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function, implementing best practices, improving processes and systems, and fostering innovation and continuous improvement


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Publish accounting reports and present their results by analyzing financial information and summarize financial status
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Prepare financial statements as per Indian regulatory requirement
  • Prepare and assist in direct and other indirect tax compliances and liaise with tax authorities and auditors as required.
  • Assist internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and Ind AS
  • Drive process improvement culture with focus on simplifying processes
  • Collaborating with others both in and outside of your team to achieve common goals
  • Key participant to build a strong team and generate strong support  
  • Undertaking all activities in accordance with CBA’s values and Code of Conduct to support the Group’s vision.
  • Stay updated on the latest accounting trends, developments, and best practices, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


Essential Skills:

  • 2–4 years' experience in finance and accounting industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Ind AS.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Experience in a Finance with strong track record in driving automation, process improvement and change delivery
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication skills and demonstrated ability to align cross functional teams.

Qualifications: Qualified CA or master’s degree in finance.
