BlackBerry QNX is looking for an experienced Automotive Strategic Alliances Manager with a background in an embedded automotive software environment along with a proven track record of recruiting and proactively working with external partners to help enable integrated solution stacks for our customers. This role will focus on ecosystem development and management to.

As part of our BlackBerry QNX Product & Strategy team, you will recruit, build, and maintain a robust, comprehensive automotive ecosystem that strengthens and complements the BlackBerry QNX value proposition. Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, and managing key silicon and software partners, leading complex contractual negotiations and actively monitoring market requirements and emerging technology trends. You will work closely with the engineering, product management, sales, marketing, legal and finance organizations.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong business and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous engagements are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit key automotive ecosystem partners to help drive business capture
  • Actively grow and manage key strategic ecosystem partner relationships.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to align roadmap, customer programs opportunities.
  • Drive joint go-to-market initiatives and PR across the ecosystem to amplify BlackBerry QNX key messaging
  • Continuously analyze emerging market and technology trends to identify technology gaps in the BlackBerry QNX product portfolio. Recruit best-in-class technology suppliers to augment the BlackBerry QNX ecosystem.
  • Negotiate complex software licensing agreements to support BlackBerry QNX overall go-to-market requirements
  • Actively engage with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Sales, Finance, and other groups to manage the BlackBerry QNX ecosystem, participating and leading cross-functional initiatives as required
  • Engage with external and internal stakeholders to perform market and customer needs analysis to develop market opportunity assessments and business model proposals to aid product roadmap investment decisions
  • Articulate and champion the value proposition for our products and services to customers and key external stakeholders
  • Lead business negotiations for all licensing and contracts related to the ecosystem accounts

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent technical degree or diploma program
  • Recent automotive embedded software experience
  • Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, ability to navigate complex situations and manage conflict resolution with ecosystem partners
  • Experience negotiating legal agreements
  • Proven track record of forging and managing key relationships
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, technical marketing, or strategic alliances roles

  • Strong verbal, written, project management, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong customer service orientation are required
  • Ability to manage accounts at all levels of the organization
