Functional (job responsibilities)

  • Serve as first line of defense for compliance advisory support to division's stakeholders on regulatory/ internal compliance, operational risk related matters
  • Main liaison person with:
    • Group Compliance and Group Risk to facilitate and review all compliance and operational risk initiatives/activities/tasks i.e. independent review, yearly attestation, outsourcing review etc.
    • Enterprise Business Continuity Management, to coordinate and manage division BCM activities
  • Responsible for developing compliance programs, reviewing internal policies and regulatory guidelines, and advising management on possible risks with mitigation plans
  • Provide advisory on compliance matters and to escalate for deliberation through higher management escalation
  • Manage and attend to all division’s regulatory queries and surveys within stipulated timeline
  • Put process in place to ensure all relevant new legislation and regulations applicable are disseminated to relevant stakeholders within PFS Credit, complete impact assessment analysis and all process gaps identified are with adequate action plans and implemented in a timely manner
  • Drive and facilitate enterprise self-assessments i.e. Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) within PFS Credit which includes providing leadership support and guidance to BUCR/ORRs to ensure adequate controls to meet regulatory requirements, key processes are tested, adhered to Group Risk and Group Compliance sampling methodology and all gaps identified are resolved with adequate controls within timeline
  • Conduct independent review on key processes in PFS Credit to ensure controls are adequate and to identify processes to improve/automate/digitize to improve compliance control and governance
  • Maintain an inventory of all essential laws and regulations pertinent to PFS Credit and to maintain/centralize all information on compliance related issue, i.e. breaches of regulations, follow up on compliance related matters
  • Follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and escalation of incidences of compliance breaches/issues (if any) to Group Compliance/ Group Risk/ Management within PFS Credit

Education/Qualification

  • Preferably degree in law, finance, business administration or related field

Experience

  • Experience in regulatory compliance and operations risk for more than 5 years in banking industry
