Team and Position Summary:This is the team that powers services and applications to manage customer accounts and identities, in a friction-less, predictable way. Build reusable SaaS products and services that manage Customer accounts and Identities and power end-to-end account creation, login, session, profile and membership journey.
Our team is responsible for design, development, and operations of applications used in the day to day working of Walmart’s Omni customer identity and accounts. We focus on developing micro-services and apps for the same by our customers in various e-com solutions. We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions.About You:
You love code. You love to take raw ideas and build great products with React, NodeJS, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You know TypeScript and JavaScript are imperfect, but you embrace their functional side and genuinely enjoy coding with it. You might like to talk about obscure computer science topics, but really, you just want to write simple code and ship new products and features to customers (or improve existing ones). You love great UX. You spend most of your time coding, but you also have an eye for great design and a feel for great UX.
Position Responsibilities:
As a software engineer (Frontend) you will develop feature sets that involve Responsive UIs with Restful Services and ensure a seamless product experience:
  • Excellent proficiency in front-end technologies Excellent proficiency in front-end technologies (React/NodeJS/TypeScript/JavaScript/HTML/CSS/React Native and related frameworks).
  • Software development by providing engineering patterns to deliver the optimal product, including implementing design patterns. Work closely with peers and senior engineers/architects.
  • Partner with UX, product owners and business SMEs to analyses the business need and provide a supportable and sustainable engineered solution. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the business needs.
  • Drive the creation and modifications of the product portfolio components, identify, and engage all technical resources necessary to contribute to the solution ensure the solution is consistent with Walmart architecture, design and development standards.
  • Build reusable React components with Typescript & modular CSS, manage data on the client with Redux, and test everything with Jest.
  • Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks, using tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Webpage test, or custom tooling.
  • Implement Graph and chart-based UI applications and work with complex/varied data structures.
  • Experiment: This is a startup-like environment so everything can change as we experiment with new ideas.
  • Hack, extend and improve open-source tools/framework.
  • Develop applications using industry best practices. Adjust adopt new methodologies that provide the business with increased flexibility and agility.
  • Stay current with latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns and methodologies, share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in React development.
  • Extensive experience building web applications using MVC frameworks (ReactJS, NodeJS) for REST like applications.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability.
  • Proven ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience in software development using modern languages (with NodeJS, Angular, React, etc) and CSS/HTML
  • Thorough understanding of Node.JS and its core principles.
  • Experience in Responsive UIs is a plus.
  • Own code quality and experience in writing extensive unit tests.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Awareness of cloud platforms like GCP
