Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Walmart’s supply chain network is one of the largest in the world.  From sourcing to fulfillment, Walmart runs extremely complex logistics as part of its multi-echelon supply chain network. NIO (Network Inbound Optimizer) aims at lowering cost of sales by providing tactical solutions to fulfil store and DC (Distribution Center) demand efficiently and cost-effectively. NIO accomplishes this by applying cost-based optimization models to demand forecast and recommending most optimal suppliers, ship-points, and flow paths to DCs and stores. What you will do:

As a Software Engineer III for Walmart Global Tech, you’ll have the opportunity to

  • Develop complex, scalable and fault tolerant software systems using Java, Springboot, Scala.

  • Work with the Product team to understand Customer requirements and work with them closely.

  • Write Unit and regression tests for any code that is developed.

  • Do production deployments using platform's automated CI and deployment tools.

  • Be an advocate for keeping Cloud Infra cost low and always strive for better performance on the products being built.

  • Partner with senior and junior teammates throughout the software development lifecycle to cultivate a learning and team building.

  • Be a core scrum team member and follow agile best practices

What you will bring:

  • B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline

  • 3+ years of experience in development of highly-scalable distributed applications and platforms - particularly for multi-tenant, SaaS products.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.

  • Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development in Java SpringBoot, Dropwizard or equivalent framework.

  • Good to have reactjs experience.

  • Experience in Scala programming language in conjunction with Apache Spark.

  • Knowledge of API standards and best practices

  • Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NOSQL Databases like Cosmos DB, Cassandra

  • Good knowledge in messaging systems: Kafka / RabbitMQ

  • Knowledge of at least one of Azure/Google Cloud Platforms.

  • Strong ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.
