Role Definition

This role will lead the strategy, continuous improvement and Lean transformation agenda of the facility.  This role leads, manages, and supports projects and supervises teams related to process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies to achieve business goals. This role will be responsible for the development and execution of the mid to long-term business development strategy with business partners.

Responsibilities

Leads cross-functional collaboration with business partners across the organization to collect voice of the customer and voice of the business to propose ideas for improvements in operational excellence. Manages metrics, dashboards and supporting management tools in place to monitor performance. Promoting the use of metrics and data to drive project focus. Planning and directing all projects viewed as critical to the facility and the enterprise. Directing, motivating and developing staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Tracking financial results and reports on quantifiable goals and objectives; estimating future projects from financial, throughput, lead-time and on-time performance improvements to assist in the prioritization of projects. Training and mentoring employees; educating personnel on Lean and Six Sigma methodology and identifying the best projects for implementation.

Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the manufacturing processes and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.

  • Analyzes business priorities for selecting potential critical metrics.
  • Uses tools (e.g. trend charts, Pareto charts, sigma conversion chart) to measure historical performance.
  • Researches important causes that have an impact on quality and customer satisfaction with the use of statistical tools.
