About the role

As the Specialist, Forklift, the role will be responsible for moving goods, loaded pallets, and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving the forklift, a Forklift Specialist will also have a range of other warehouse duties in the Inbound and Outbound departments.

What you'll do 

    • Maneuvering forklift safely on warehouse floor
    • Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of product onto shelves or pallets
    • Moving product from storage areas to loading docks for transport
    • Unloading deliveries and safely relocating product to designated storage areas
    • Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
    • Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
    • Report any damaged or lost product 
    • Keeping up to date with health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures

    Unboxing/Processing (Inbound)

    • Support unloading trucks (including palletizing boxes where necessary)
    • Staging pallets for unboxing
    • Opening boxes and scanning shipping labels
    • Using apps and computer to complete order fulfillment process

    Boxing/Palletizing (Outbound)

    • Boxing items, working with packaging equipment, and ensuring labels are accurately placed on boxes
    • Loading items onto pallets for shipment
    • Moving outgoing pallets to delivery truck

 

About you

  • Education 

    • Forklift or heavy machinery certification
    • Completion of forklift driving course
    • Previous OSHA training preferred

Experience 

  • 0-6 months of experience working in warehouses or retail environments, unloading trucks and processing boxes
  • Prior experience with forklift

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude are a must
  • Sense of urgency to perform tasks to timelines
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work well in teams and good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good endurance skills 

Interpersonal Demands

  • Interaction limited to others on the team (peers, leaders)

Decision Making

  • Mostly choosing from other options suggested by leaders and or teammates

Equipment & Technology 

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Slack, and other common basic office software
Working Conditions
  • The Verification Center is a warehouse environment with working conditions found in a typical warehouse setting. Closed toed and closed heel shoes are required. Team members in this environment will be required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, turn, and pivot more than 75% of the time.
  • May push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds (or 23kg); on occasion a team-lift of up to 100 pounds (or 45kg) and may be required to bend, twist, kneel and squat regularly.
  • This role may require you to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like on a frequent basis depending on site location.
