Position Summary:
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the building.
Major Responsibilities:
Assists Operations Coordinator/Managers with monitoring Changeover/Housekeeper staff members on related shifts in daily operations to ensure all tasks are being met.
Assists with providing appropriate instruction and training to Changeover/Housekeeper staff members on the proper operation techniques required to ensure complete satisfaction at the facility and assurance ASM quality cleaning and standards are being met, while adhering to all required safety procedures.
Participate in daily operations project strategy meetings with executive operations staff members on related shifts.
Review event documents for assigning of zone/area cleaning, equipment set-up/changeover/removal and housekeeping issues.
Recommend solutions to identified issues.
Review operations task list items and coordinate assigned cleaning and equipment movement in a safe, efficient manner with accepted operations principles.
Maintain appropriate inventory stock of supplies and equipment to perform assigned tasks.
Cleanup spills, breakages, debris and restock bathroom facilities in the facility as required.
General janitorial functions such as, but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, stripping composite floors, extracting carpet, washing glass/windows/mirrored surfaces, washing walls, cleaning stainless steel, dusting, replenishing supplies, bailing cardboard, rubbish and debris removal.
Ability to read and understand simple English.
Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet – i.e., smiling, saying “Good Day” or offering assistance when needed.
Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed.
Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of “The Magic is in the Details”
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Must possess good communication skills. This position requires the ability to interact with all types of people and to exhibit first rate customer service at all times, be professional and work well as a team player.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to various cleaning chemicals and spills. Must have the ability to work flexible/irregular hours. Position requires extensive walking, occasional bending, lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
