This role will lead a group of diverse Project Leaders who will positively impact our ability to scale operations of the New Glenn Launch vehicle and manufacturing capability at Blue’s Rocket Park Facility to meet the growing demand from our business units. As the Director of Program Management for the New Glenn Manufacturing Operations, you will lead a team of Project Leaders who will be responsible to execute scope related to achieving ambitious Rate targets while implementing state of the art solutions, on time and budget leading to building confidence in performance.  They will work with broad cross functional team (inside and outside of Operations) to establishing robust, integrated cost and schedule plans that deliver for our customers while building the standards to which we execute programs. This position will also partner with supporting organizations to develop integrated data solutions and to drive performance to ensure rate targets to build our New Glenn Launch vehicle are met and we are successful in our mission of creating the infrastructure with millions of people will live and work in space.

As the Director of Program Management for New Glenn Manufacturing Operations, you will lead your Project Leaders in setting the standards for and optimizing work breakdown structures, schedule management of a portfolio of Integrated Master Schedule, and integrating cost models to develop meaningful analysis for Operations and Program Leadership.  Upon coordinating and implementing status and forecast updates with finance and planning create briefings for Operations and program leadership, this will include risk management.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated success interfacing with all Enterprise Functions and Executive Leadership in an integrated capacity, while building and establishing the Program Management Operating System to align across the enterprise to enable execution and forecasting our ability to deliver on Operations commitments. Partnering with all levels of Program Management and Engineering Leadership this position will be integral in establishing reporting data and metrics that drive action for improved program performance.

We are looking for an individual who goes beyond just reporting the data but who translates the data into actionable information to drives improved program performance. While this role requires someone with an understanding of industry best practices around Project Management, candidates must have demonstrated experience challenging the norms and maintaining a commitment to relentlessly pursuing new and better alternative practices.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, project management or other highly analytical field
  • 15+ years of program/project management with roles of expanding leadership and scope.
  • Broad/deep scheduling and cost controls skillset
  • Proficiency with resource-loaded schedules using Primavera (P6) or similar platforms
  • Control account management including budget baselining, reforecasting, variance analysis, managing EACs and implementing EVMS with Deltek Cobra or similar platforms
  • Experience with large project data sets, project planning efforts, and integrating program cost and schedules
  • Experience driving programmatic actions through robust variance analysis
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a keen ability to understand and work with complex relationships across internal organizations
  • Passionate about the value robust schedule and cost management can bring to a program and experienced in articulating this value and earning buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in building and leading teams, including hiring new talent, growing existing talent, and fostering a productive and healthy team culture
  • Demonstrated success in designing, testing, and implementing standard operating procedures and process
  • Experience and ability to thrive in an environment with ambiguity, evolving priorities and requirements
  • Leadership experience, with demonstrated successes building and sustaining high performance teams
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Experienced Program Planning and Program Finance in support of large hardware platforms (Aerospace, Defense, Construction sectors)
  • Scheduling and/or project management experience in a recurring operations or maintenance environment
  • Expertise with Primavera P6, Deltek Cobra, and Empower
  • Proven record of hands-on development and implementation of company-wide process improvements
  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
