Position Summary
The Benefit Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability insurance, wellness programs, and other related benefits. This position ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations and acts as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve issues and answer inquiries.
This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping employees understand and maximize their benefits.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Administer Employee Benefits Programs: Administration of health insurance plans, retirement savings plans (e.g., 401(k)), wellness programs, and other benefit programs.
Benefit Enrollment and Communication: Facilitate new hire and annual open enrollment processes, provide employee education on benefits options, and assist employees with benefits selection.
Compliance and Legal: Ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA).
Problem Resolution: Handle employee inquiries related to claims, coverage, and policy interpretation, working with providers to resolve any issues.
Benefit Plan Audits: Conduct audits of benefits programs to ensure accuracy and compliance, making recommendations for adjustments when necessary.
Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and updated employee benefits records, including insurance plan enrollments, contributions, and changes in status. Generate reports as required by management.
Employee Support and Education: Provide ongoing support to employees regarding their benefits, helping them navigate and understand their benefits options and coverage.
Data Analysis and Recommendations: Analyze the cost and utilization of benefits programs, recommending changes to enhance cost efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Leave of Absence Management: Coordinate employee leaves of absence (such as FMLA) and ensure proper documentation and benefit continuation during leaves.
Wellbeing: Support global wellbeing strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP are preferred but not required
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience administering employee benefits programs.
Experience in HR or related fields preferred.
Management of internal HR and employee benefit programs
Experience in a multinational or global organization preferred
