You will report to the Director of Global Operations for Ride Hail and be based in San Francisco or Mountain View in California.

 

You will:

  • Analyze data (SQL, dashboards, etc.) to understand factors impacting supply and develop strategies for optimal vehicle availability across markets and times. Become Waymo's leading expert in the myriad factors that can affect our ride hail service's supply of hailable vehicles for customers.
  • Lead thorough retrospectives of supply dips, identify root causes, assign action items, and drive solutions to completion.
  • Create and refine plans to mitigate the impact of unforeseen events on hailable vehicle supply, leveraging insights from past disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Supply and Demand teams in each market, set performance targets, and ensure alignment to maximize service levels.
  • Define, document, and deliver training for on-call procedures and escalation protocols to ensure swift resolution of supply issues.
  • Work directly with senior leaders to lead decision-making for initiatives impacting hailable supply, balancing trade-offs with other company objectives, and coach partners on supply management best practices.

You have:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data from various sources (SQL, dashboards, spreadsheets, statistics) and derive actionable insights to optimize vehicle supply. This includes identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to understand the factors influencing supply levels.
  • The ability to conduct thorough investigations into supply disruptions, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions is essential. This involves systematic thinking, critical analysis, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, external partners, and senior management.
  • Ability to think strategically and anticipate potential challenges. This involves considering various factors, assessing risks, and making informed decisions that align with overall company objectives.
  • Effective project management skills. This includes planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive effective decision-making processes.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

$180,000$227,000 USD
