Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions, the leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. Currently Sandvik has an opening for an Accounts Receivable Manager at the Smyrna, GA location.
SCOPE
The Accounts Receivable Manager will be a hands-on-team leader that delivers measurable financial impact in our Net Working Capital. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving and communication skills and be effective interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. The AR manager will lead a team of three AR specialists, and work directly with customers and their management tools, processes, and mechanisms, as well as internal stakeholders to address outstanding payment and issues.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Financial
Oversees the collection process and ensure accurate and timely application of client payments.
Executes accurate financial reporting and planning, tracking performance, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Recognizes escalation trends and identify underlying root causes on overdues.
Partners with and influence business partners and other teams to improve process and solve root causes.
Identifies and implements best practices to improve operating procedures for complex vendors and situations.
Communicates directly with vendors to resolve invoice and billing discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate receivables.
Researches Order To Cash issues to identify and resolve process defects.
Ensures existing policies, procedures, and controllership guidelines are updated and followed.
Participates in the month end closing process to ensure AR is reported on a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures that all AR internal control policies are followed and conducts frequent audits.
Performs other related duties as requested by management.
Safety and Environment
Complies with Sandvik safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
Identifies and reports any unsafe work practices.
Leadership
Sets and executes business objectives for team; validate, monitor, and deliver on key success metrics, and execute on delivery roadmaps.
Trains and mentors staff members in the department.
Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures.
Takes responsibility for personal and team development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing/leading a collections team.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Account Receivable, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs)
Proficient knowledge of allowance for doubtful accounts and revenue recognition.
Advanced proficiency in Excell, which includes creating easily understood summaries.
Experience working with SAP, Power BI
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ 3 years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to enhance current processes with measurable results.
+ 3 years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
+ 3 years of experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
+ 3 years of experience mentoring finance team members.
+ 3 years of experience years of working with senior staff (e.g. finance director, VP, Account managers)
MBA, or CPA
