About The Project

The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.  

The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80 - Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

 Key accountabilities

  • Work closely with the project construction teams to understand the works program and provide timely and clear works notifications to residents and stakeholders. 

  • Write and contribute to a range of high-quality communication materials, including client correspondence, works notifications, newsletters, advertising content, and formal correspondence

  • Coordinate and attend residential door knocks, stakeholder drop-ins, information sessions and briefings and other engagement activities, as appropriate

  • Use outside the box thinking to contribute to innovative stakeholder engagement solutions. 

  • Assist in identifying stakeholder and community issues and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to minimise and manage impacts  

  • Develop & maintain effective and open relationships with the client

  • Liaise with construction teams, community and stakeholders to respond promptly and effectively to project 1800 number enquiries and complaints, and manage responses

  • Apply exceptional attention to detail to the writing, design, production and distribution of a range of communication collateral

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other community engagement advisors and graduates

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and delivery across the Alliance

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Experience working in a similar position whilst supporting a major construction project
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills with a focus on collaboration. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Tertiary qualification in communications or equivalent industry experience.
