Leidos is seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Coordinator to play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of engineering projects by managing administrative tasks, operational logistics, and communication between teams in this highly visible cyber security operations center (SOC) for Customs Border Protection (CBP), cyber analysis, application development, and a 24x7x365 support staff.   

Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Security Operations Center (SOC) is a US Government program responsible to prevent, identify, contain and eradicate cyber threats to CBP networks through monitoring, intrusion detection and protective security services to CBP information systems including local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), commercial Internet connection, public facing websites, wireless, mobile/cellular, cloud, security devices, servers and workstations.  The CBP SOC is responsible for the overall security of CBP Enterprise-wide information systems, and collects, investigates, and reports any suspected and confirmed security violations. 

 The Engineering Operations Coordinator will be coordinating critical SOC engineering projects including projects such as launching applications into the AWS Cloud, Splunk logging, and SIEM implementation, etc. The Engineering Operations Coordinator will need to work with the customer to prioritize operational issues, engineering activities, and development efforts, and drive the schedule to completion. Other projects will include setting up and guiding a Task Management solution to track Engineering and Project Management initiatives. The Engineering Operations Coordinator shall have demonstrated capabilities to analyze highly complex cyber security and network issues, recommend plans of action for SOC staff (including both contractor and government personnel), and manage teams supporting resolution of these issues.  

 

 Primary Responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and tracking of engineering projects. 

  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute minutes. 

  • Ensure project documentation is up-to-date, organized, and accessible. 

  • Prepare reports and dashboards to track project progress and performance. 

  • Coordinate the allocation of engineering resources, including team members, equipment, and materials. 

  • Manage engineering schedules and ensure the availability of necessary tools and supplies for project teams. 

  • Maintain and organize documentation for engineering projects, including blueprints, design specs, and technical documents. 

  • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for engineering teams. 

  • Identify and suggest process improvements to increase operational efficiency. 

  • Assist in identifying project risks and potential issues, and escalate them to the appropriate team leads. 

 

Candidate must have experience of direct project and program management experience in delivery of information systems or computer network support services.   

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Strong customer interfacing experience 

  • Experience with ITIL practices 

  • BS Degree and 2-4 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or a similar role within a technical or engineering environment . Additional experience and/certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • 4 years technical experience with 1-2 years of small project leadership (5+people) 

  • Experience with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook 

  • Strong communication skills  

 

The Engineering Operations Coordinator shall possess the following qualifications (preferred), at a minimum of 3 years’ of direct project and program management experience in delivery of information systems or computer network support services,

 

One of the following certs must be completed prior to starting:

Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP); CISSP®-ISSMP: Information Systems Security Management Professional; or Certified Information System Manager (CISM); or Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). 

 

Clearance: In addition to specific security clearance requirements all CBP SOC employees are required to successfully complete a CBP Background Investigation to support this program 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in cyber security 

  • Previous experience with DHS or CBP customer 

  • Experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) or Networking Operations  

  • Experiencing developing Agile processes 

  • Experience Leading a team 

  • Experience Architecting a Task Management solution like Remedy or JIRA  

  • Experience working with the following technologies  MS Project, Splunk, AWS Cloud , RSA Archer

  • Splunk 

  • AWS Cloud

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
