Location: This role is based out of our Newark, NJ location on a hybrid basis and requires a minimum of 2 days/week in office.

Your Team

As a Lead, Scrum Master on the Platform Enablement Journey, you will join a team of change agents who are responsible for coaching, teaching and guiding individuals, bringing to bear agile principles, practices and frameworks to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! You will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers and delivery professionals to improve the USB (US Business) Platform Cloud Services.  You will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.  

Here is what you can expect on a typical day

  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact 
  • Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide input and coach team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day  
  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Ensures the team(s) lives Agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices that they agreed-upon to deliver the committed solutions
  • Responsible for promoting and supporting Agile principles by helping everyone understand applied theories, practices, rules, and value
  • True servant leader who serves the team(s) and larger organization
  • Supports those outside the aligned team(s) to understand which of their interactions with the team(s) are effective and which aren’t; helps everyone change these interactions to improve the value built by the Agile team
  • Supports all aspects of risk management and impediment resolution
  • Formal people leadership for a highly talented team
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability

The Skills & Expertise You Bring  

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer, or comparable Agile delivery leadership role
  • Ability to coach others with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization  
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills

Advanced experience and/or deep expertise with several of the following:

  • Familiarity and expertise with Agile principles and frameworks, including story writing and estimation, facilitation, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement (CI)
  • Experience working and proficiency in performing the role of Scrum Master, including on teams charged with highly complex outcomes 
  • Expertise in facilitation and tracking of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), prioritization, backlog refinement, and specialty workshops.
  • Proven capabilities in: (i) delivery, (ii) reporting and metrics, (iii) Agile toolchains (Jira, Jira Align, Miro, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role required
  • Adept at story writing, estimation, refinement, and other techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to partner and interact with technical and business stakeholders; a “servant leader” mindset
  • Exceptional communication skills, analytical, problem-solving skills, mentoring and facilitation skills
  • Highly organized and motivated; a “can do” attitude
  • Assertive with ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and be a change agent for the team
  • Experience using Power BI or similar tools strongly preferred
  • Scrum Master certification a plus

The salary range for this role is from $125,000.00 to $186,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
