Supervises, trains, audits and schedules Environmental Services (EVS) staff at Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH). Assists in the hiring process to include interviewing applicants, completing rosters, and all orientation paperwork.

SCHEDULE: Full-time. Monday-Friday 9a-5:30p. Available for weekends as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Supervises, coordinates responsibility over all Housekeeping/Environmental Services personnel to include orienting, training, scheduling, reviewing work performed, and quality audits as required.

  • Assists in the hiring process: This will include working closely with the Human Resources Department to complete the new hire process. This will include completing a blue form for approval to fill new positions.

  • Oversees the day-to-day laundry par levels for the assigned BTNRH location. Conducts quarterly linen inventories.

  • Supports the supply chain process, places supply orders in conjunction with the Purchasing Department.

  • Assists the department timekeeper for processing the payroll for department's personnel.

  • Prepares rooms that are planned for meetings, seminars, and other staff/client functions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and review work of Environmental Services personnel.

  • Ability to document and collect data.

  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all levels of staff and coworkers.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients, visitors and staff. Ability to contribute to monthly staff meetings when requested to do so by Director.

  • Ability to meet with Surgery / Inpatient staff as requested.

  • Ability to work all shift schedules as needed.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel between BTNRH facilities across town as needed to cover for other locations.

  • Should have the ability to relate positively with all levels of staff.

  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Environmental Services procedures required.

  • Minimum of 5 years in Environmental Services or Housekeeping required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in Environmental Services preferred.

  • Hospital setting knowledge preferred.
