Trimble is looking for a Product Manager to join the Civil Construction Field Solutions (CCFS) team at our Trimble office located in Westminster, Colorado. As Product Manager, you will own and manage products through the full life cycle from development, to launch, active sales, and then retirement. Working as part of a collaborative, innovative, customer-focused and diverse Product Management team you will interact closely with engineers, designers, operations, quality, compliance, sales, service, business systems and support teams that are distributed globally to define, prioritize, document and deliver successful solutions.  

In this role, you  will spend time in the market understanding our customer’s problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will collaborate with global marketing and engineering teams to deliver efficient and innovative functionality and engage a worldwide customer and distribution partner base for feedback, education, and product direction.

You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.

 

Role Objectives

  • Take your products through the core development stages from concept generation through to release to market. Including feature definition, prioritization and negotiation, documentation such as manuals and brochures, product compliance, part number creation and management, business systems integration and eCommerce product purchase experience..

  • Maintain tight collaboration from CCFS division to other core Trimble divisions, including Building Construction and Geospatial.

  • Manage released products through the full lifecycle, including managing quality and support issues that arise, and the sunsetting and replacement of products.

  • Initiate, grow and maintain relationships with external suppliers, in coordination with Trimble sourcing and operations teams to source new and updated products as necessary to support Trimble solutions and customers.

  • Help execute a Trimble Earthworks development strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for new and improved products to support our customer and business needs.

  • Perform system level testing to validate new features and functionality has been properly implemented.

 

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • At least 5 years experience in product management or product ownership/support roles. 

  • A passion for ensuring customer success.

  • Strong end-user focus with the ability to analyze workflows, identify market opportunities and translate them into an actionable plan

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority through consensus building, networking, and effective presentation of sound business reasoning. 

  • Prior product management experience, including backlog management, voice of customer, competitive analysis, familiarity with product development methodologies (such as Agile and stage-gate), and interaction with software and/or hardware development teams is a plus.

  • Humility - willingness to ask questions when you don’t know and to accept failure as a learning opportunity.

  •  Ability to maintain appropriate project status communications throughout the project lifecycle

  •  Effective team leadership

  •  Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  •  Must have ability to develop relationships with internal departments and external vendors
