As part of a hardworking team technicians and engineers, you will build human rated Lunar Landers able to land on the moon In support of the MK1 and MK2 Lunar Lander Program.
This is a boots-on-the-ground, hands-on-hardware, assembly technician Supervisor role. This is for the thinkers, the makers, the creatives, the pioneers, the problem solvers, those who own their role as if they are going to fly on the vehicle. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.
Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and other ground support equipment as required.
Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
Shift time 600p-600a Friday-Sunday must be willing to work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and Holidays if/when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing responsibilities otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
10+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, work instructions and test procedures.
Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.
Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbs.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
A&P License
Prior Military
Space TEC Certified
Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
Experience in fluids installs and testing Tubing, valves, hoses etc.
Experience in instrumentation and electrical components and test
Avionics assemblies build and checkout.
Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly
Clean Room Experience
ESD awareness
Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.
Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structural items.
Precision Hand Drilling.
Power feed Drill Motors.
Structural Sealants, Primers, and Paints.
