The Product Owner in DataOps Tools & Services has a key role in driving efficiencies in the data product teams, increasing throughput and quality whilst provisioning trustworthy data through repeatable, traceable processes.  As a product owner in DataOps Tools & Services you will be accountable for the definition and delivery of the capability roadmap for one or more products aimed at enabling the movement, processing, and protection of data in line with the principles set forth by FAIR within the Development Data Mesh. 

The scope of DataOps Tools & Services includes but is not limited to data exchange, data harmonization, observability/monitoring, protection, and anonymization capabilities. In this role, you will partner closely with the data product owners and engineers responsible for the design and delivery of data products in the development data mesh, as well as key individuals in the data quality and governance and analytics enablement teams to ensure the capabilities introduced are effectively integrated and leverage automation wherever feasible.   You will work with a team of product designers, analysts and engineers applying the agile delivery methodology to accelerate product progression and value to customers. 

Senior Product Owner

 Key responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Accountable for developing and executing 3-year product roadmaps in alignment with the R&D strategy and R&D stakeholders. The product roadmaps will be built with a clear focus on value delivery to the R&D strategy and will prioritize investments based on value.
  • Product Management: Accountable for managing and prioritizing the product backlog, driving PI planning events, aligning on PI commitments, and unblocking issues.  Partner with data owners and stewards in Development and data engineers in Development Digital & Tech to ensure features are delivered to plan and in line with expectations.
  • Stakeholder Management:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts and Development data owners and stewards, as well as data governance product owners and data engineers in Development Tech to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
  • Lifecycle Management:  Manage the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch to iteration, using agile methodologies.  Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), quality and success metrics for the products.  Actively seek feedback (voice of customer/voice of product) and monitor usage patterns.
  • Governance: Partner with Development data owners and stewards to ensure fit for purpose governance is defined and applied to the products within the domain

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Good experience delivering products and services, preferably in pharma R&D analytics.
  • Experience with Anonymization tools and capabilities
  • Proven track record of delivering successful products and services that solve complex problems and create value for users and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Pharma R&D data from multiple disciplines across a global enterprise to create cohesive solutions.
  • Understanding of mesh technology and its applications in pharma R&D analytics, such as data integration, data governance, data quality, data security, data lineage, data cataloging, data discovery, data access, data sharing, data collaboration, etc.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps
  • Experience with vendor management

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Master’s or Doctorate ​in Tech / Life Sciences
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and deliver significant process improvements.
  • SAFE/Agile certification
  • Experience of GxP Validation processes
  • Application of design thinking
  • Application of event-driven architecture (EDA)
