CMC Markets are hiring! We are currently recruiting for a Product Designer to join our Product team for a 18 month Fixed Term Contract . Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).

Role

As a Product Designer, you’ll be at the heart of shaping CMC Markets’ digital experiences. Reporting to the Design Lead, you’ll have the opportunity to work across both web and mobile platforms, leveraging our state-of-the-art design system. You’ll be a key advocate for design within the company, ensuring it’s central to every decision. Collaborating closely with product managers, developers, marketing, brand and stakeholders, you’ll deliver engaging, user-centred solutions that set us apart. 

Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • User-Centric Design & Research: Champion the voice of the user by conducting research, usability testing, and feedback loops.  

  • Design & Deliver High-Quality Solutions: Create and refine user flows, prototypes, and polished UI designs from concept to launch, ensuring brand consistency. 

  • Enhance the Design System: Contribute to our design system by collaborating with engineers to refine and deliver reusable components and patterns. 

  • Support Team Adoption & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent design implementation, offering guidance and answering questions. 

  • Collaborate on Product Strategy & Execution: Contribute to product strategy discussions and help break down initiatives into actionable design tasks. 

  • Documentation & Process Improvement: Assist in maintaining design documentation and contribute ideas to streamline UX processes. 

  • Facilitate Workshops & Stakeholder Communication: Lead collaborative design sessions and communicate progress to stakeholders through presentations and updates. 

  • Promote Design Best Practices: Advocate for Human-Centred Design principles and share knowledge to elevate design quality across the team. 

  • Professional Growth & Compliance: Stay updated on industry trends and complete mandatory compliance training to meet the evolving demands of the role. 

Your Background

  • Experience and Expertise: 3-5 years in product design with a portfolio showcasing web and mobile projects and experience with design systems. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in design tools like Figma and knowledgeable in responsive/adaptive design principles. 

  • Research and User-Centred Design: Skilled in user research, HCD principles, and applying UX best practices. 

  • Collaboration and Communication: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and effectively present design decisions. 

  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking: Able to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints with a problem-solving mindset. 

  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Eager to learn, stay current on industry trends, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Attention to Detail and Quality: Strong eye for detail with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality designs. 

  • Drive for Impact and Improvement: Passionate about creating impactful designs and enhancing team efficiency through process improvement.
