The Role
 

The Head of Delivery & Operations role within the Sportsbook Technology team is a critical role for delivery efficiency and organizational scale of the team.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sportsbook Technology, they will work closely with the Tech LT, setting up consistent processes for communication within the LT team, as well as with the Sportsbook Tech Org as a whole. They will ensure the Sportsbook Tech LT has all the Data required for fast decision making (People, Finance, Delivery, Operational) and are communicating effectively with key stakeholders in Product, Tech and Commercial. They will also ensure the teams have clarity on their goals / OKRs and are progressing them consistently, will identify areas of improvement and propose opportunities for process optimization and automation.

They lead a team further enhancing our team’s capabilities with Delivery, Operational and People Excellence processes that drive efficiency and maximize outcomes. They are akin to an internal consulting team and will focus on a variety of projects that are complex, cross-functional and require a combination of problem solving and execution.

They will have a key role supporting the Sportsbook technology team on some of the tougher, complex issues that the Sportsbook organization faces, by working with senior leaders across the organization, including VPs, Senior Directors, Directors, Principals and Senior Staff.

Furthermore, the Delivery & Operations teams will work with each of the Strategic Pillar leadership teams, coordinating efforts for efficient delivery and effective communication within the Pillar and with key stakeholders, as well as ensuring consistency between Pillars. It will also be responsible for identifying dependencies and risks, as well as working with the Strategic Pillar LT and other key peers and stakeholders to minimize those dependencies and mitigate risks, as well as keep regular and transparent communication.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading a strategic team responsible to take the Sportsbook Tech Operations & Delivery to the next level

  • Delivery and Operational Excellence Processes Design and Adoption

  • Work with the Sportsbook Tech LT on the Strategy and OKRs

  • Support the Product & Tech LT on the Sportsbook Strategy

  • Collect, analyze and communicate key data on People, Delivery, Operations and Finance with the LT team

  • Support Product & Tech LT driving a culture based on the FanDuel Principles and on the Sportsbook Vision

  • Identifying operational improvements and efficiencies opportunities within the organization

  • Understand the multi-cultural, multi-location of the organization and work with the leadership team to maximize the advantages of the set up / minimize the weak points of the set up

  • Building a knowledge base on key functions across locations and acting as the single source of truth.  Also, determining how to deploy that knowledge throughout the organization 

  • Work with Innovation leaders across the business and drive the Innovation process across the Sportsbook organization

  • Work with senior leadership to redesign organizational structures

  • Support the Sportsbook Delivery, coordinating the team structures, their delivery processes and communication, ensuring clear roadmap view per team, calling out risks & dependencies and driving plans to mitigate risk and resolve dependencies

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (mandatory)
