Job Description:

Are you passionate about driving innovative projects, and contributing to sustainable aquaculture practices? Skretting Aquaculture Innovation (AI) is currently looking for a Project Manager Operations with an innovative mindset and sound collaborative skills for an exciting role within our research facilities.   

  

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Project Manager Operations, where you’ll play an important role in driving the commercialization of trials as a strategic approach to optimize the use of our internal research facilities. You will be responsible for negotiating trial opportunities that align with our capacity and strategic priorities, as well as advice on trial design, manage, plan, and report on projects. You will work closely with various departments, fostering collaboration and focusing on efficient use of research facilities capacities and driving continuous improvement to ensure that all projects are executed with maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, you will support the Salmonid nutrition R&D team by overseeing digestibility trials and other tasks contributing to the success of our innovative research initiatives 

 

You will report to the R&D Manager Operations and be part of the Skretting Aquaculture Innovation Operation team based at the headquarters in Stavanger, Norway.  We are open to candidates at various stages of their careers, whether you're newly educated or have more experience. What matters most to us is that you possess the right capabilities and mindset to succeed in this role

 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Lead and manage fish/shrimp trials, working closely with internal teams, external customers, and collaborative partners. This includes everything from trial design and budgeting to ethical compliance, protocol writing, and reporting results 

  • Maximize utilization of capacity of research stations by proactively looking for trial commercialization opportunities, including customer acquisition and negotiations 

  • Ensure high standards by developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring ethical compliance 

  • Oversee daily operations related to trial process optimization 

  • Plan, manage, and report on digestibility trials for the Salmonid nutrition team. Provide additional support to the team as needed, based on business priorities 

  • Foster innovation and build trust through effective collaboration with peers, management, and external stakeholders 

 

What we ask:  

  • Master’s degree within aquaculture science, animal science or equivalent  

  • Experience with planning, executing, and overseeing projects 

  • Competence of experimental design of fish/shrimp trials is an advantage

  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring project deliverables are met on time 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Proficiency in data processing and statistical analysis is an advantage

  • Fluency in English, and competence in Norwegian or Spanish languages is an advantage but not requirement
