About You and this Role

We are looking for you, an ambitious Bachelor's student, to support our Technical Expertise & Support department by doing an internship project for our location in Schkopau, Germany, where you'll play a crucial role.

TES Software Subject Matter Experts (SME) typically work for Dow as members of the TES (Technical Expertise & Support) department. They collaborate with other TES personnel to uphold company operations by installing, repairing and maintaining TES dedicated computer software or hardware for employees. Their job is to use their knowledge of these software to assist TES employees so they can complete their job duties effectively. A good TES Software SME has an investigative mindset that motivates them to identify problems with computer systems, perform tests and find the cause of system errors. They value continued education, and they always look for opportunities to enhance their knowledge of computer hardware and software. They also have excellent verbal communication and active listening that allows them to engage with internal stakeholders and help them troubleshoot problems with hardware or software programs, such as SAP, pd+, Turnaround Tool, etc. Further, a good TES Software SME enjoys teamwork and works well with other colleagues to complete tasks in a productive manner.

Responsibilities

  • TES software SME must interpret problems and determine the best way to resolve it, which requires the use of critical thinking. Troubleshooting of recurring problems that require additional expertise when it comes to TES dedicated software.
  • TES software SME work closely with the customers on site/ within TES. Patience is necessary for this field. Patience will benefit in understanding the problem and working toward a solution.
  • Communicating with stakeholders, supervisors and staff helps everyone to understand the problem and potential solutions. Clearly stating the situation, following through with emails and phone calls and sharing resolutions will make the process flow smoothly.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • Good understanding of programming, computer science and digital security
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
  • Good communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
  • Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management and prioritization

Qualification

  • You are currently studying bachelor’s degree or specific certification in the field of expertise.
  • It is important to stay on top of current trends and technology as updates are released regularly for software, hardware and computer components.
  • A focus on computer information systems, information technology or computer science should qualify the candidate.
  • You can support us 10 to 20 hours / week, by arrangement, and we offer flexible working hours
  • You speak fluent German and good English

Additional Note

  • You can start between March and July 2025 for a period of 4 to 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
