About the Role
SVHM are currently engaged in the Timely Emergency Care Collaborative (TEC2), an 18-month, state-wide project involving 11 health services under the auspices of the Victorian Department of Health and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. The goal of TEC2 is to improve care of the older person by identifying barriers to care across the health service and implementing effective countermeasures. This requires a high level of coordination of effort and rigorous application of improvement science. This will include preparation and presentation of monthly Steering Committee papers, assisting with the planning and implementation of new improvement initiatives, tracking and managing high-level project risks, timelines, deliverables and budget, liaising effectively with Executive Sponsors to secure ongoing support, participating in all external TECC commitments with DoH, IHI and other Health Services. The position would work alongside permanent members of the improvement team.

About Continuous Improvement
The Continuous Improvement Department is located at the main campus of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne in Fitzroy. It reports to the Chief Operating Officer alongside the Decision Support Team via the General Manager Continuous Improvement and Decision Support. We provide specialist improvement capability to the organisation to lead and drive improvement. We share a non-clinical space with other support departments such as Quality and Patient Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Decision Support Unit and Finance. We regularly visit clinical spaces across all campuses and are setup to work in a mobile fashion as the needs of the organisation require. You may be required to work from other campuses at times including Aged Care, Community and Correctional Health sites across Melbourne. Fleet cars are available as required if you do not have your own transport. Remote working is supported on days where an on-site presence is not required to progress work.
