LF Strategic Design Lead

Description -

 We are seeking an experienced and visionary Strategic Design Lead to spearhead our Strategic Design team. This role is crucial to driving innovation and customer-centric solutions within our large format printer’s business. You will lead a team responsible for in-depth customer research, identifying insights and defining new opportunities, helping create experience visions and experiment/incubate innovative ideas that align with our business goals.   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, researchers, and strategists. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team. 

- Customer Research: Oversee comprehensive research to understand customer needs, pain points, and market trends. Translate insights into actionable design strategies. 

- Opportunity Identification: Analyze research findings to identify new business opportunities and areas for product innovation. Prioritize opportunities based on strategic value and feasibility. 

- Innovation Incubation: Develop and lead the incubation process for new ideas, from concept to prototype, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 

- Strategic Vision: Collaborate with senior leadership to align design strategies with overall company goals. Communicate the strategic vision and value of design across the organization. 

- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, especially with Product and R&D, to ensure the successful implementation of design-led initiatives. 

- Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of design projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. 

 - Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously seek ways to improve design processes and methodologies.  

  

Education and experience: 

 

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Strategic Design, Innovation, or a related field. 

- Experience: 10+ years of experience in strategic design, with a strong background in leading design teams. Experience in the technology corporate environment is a must. 

- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, been able to plan resources and manage budget. 

- Innovation Focus: Demonstrated success in identifying and incubating new business opportunities through design-led innovation. Agency experience is a plus. 

- Digital solutions designer: Proven experience conceptualizing and developing digital solutions. Leading the digital transformation and practices. 

 

Knowledge & Skills: 

- Strong experience in customer research, design thinking, and user-centered design methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative. 

- Ability to think critically and strategically, with a strong understanding of business needs and market dynamics. 

- Strong leadership, strategic vision and organizational skills while been a hands-on designer.  

- Team and project management. 

- Strong relationship skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution. 

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

- Advanced communication skills. 

- Resiliance and change management.
