Our Asia team is looking for a Regional Human Resources Director, Asia to provide business support to the operating companies and lead the HR teams in region. As Regional HR Director, Asia you will be responsible for the management and carrying out a full range of HR support for the operating companies of Hillenbrand in region, which includes, talent acquisition support, employee relations issues, organizational effectiveness, compensation/job evaluation, performance management, and other HR related functions and issues as well as the Payroll and Benefits function for the Asia team. This role is a combination of working strategically with senior business leaders, liaising with global HR Centers of Excellence as well as carrying out transactional HR activity including analyses, developing, and implementing processes and systems for efficiency as well as providing key management and support to assigned staff.

This role reports into the Human Resources function and has solid reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources and dotted line reporting to the local Business Leader for Mold-Masters, Asia.  

What you’ll do:
 

Regional HR leadership and business partnering for Mold-Masters, Coperion, Rotex and DME:

  • Manages a team of HR professionals.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws Performs other relevant duties and project as assigned.
  • Proactive stakeholder communication and strategic HR business partnering to the leadership of the Operating companies through value added consultation and coaching.
  • Ensure global HR initiatives are executed consistently within the Region and reports are submitted, as required.
  • Lead talent management activities such as calibration, leadership development and succession planning and ensures that the company's performance evaluation program is executed effectively and on a timely basis.
  • Engage and collaborate with the regional Talent Acquisition team to contribute to an effective recruitment of the region’s staffing needs as well as Affirmative Action initiatives.
  • Leads staff in the administration of the annual compensation process for the operating company population in the Region working in partnership with compensation teams.  Oversight of local incentive plans and ensure compensation governance is adhered.
  • In collaboration with Group Insurance Broker, develop plan designs, ensure cost efficiencies review benefit carriers, manage administration of benefits, manage employee communications, and prepare annual renewal proposals for senior management approval.
  • Initiate progressive policies/best practices that build on the success of the culture that provides for open communication and opportunities for growth.
  • Identify and realize opportunities to align and consolidate HR policies and practices and, digitize HR administrative processes in country and region where applicable as well as promote recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements of HR team.
  • Provides ongoing advice and counsel on strategic and operational employee relations issues. Consults external legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with the law.
  • Ensures the effective administration of HR controls in compliance with relevant legislation and HR policy
  • Ensure practice of Disability Administration, Management and Return to Work strategies etc. is compliant with legal requirements.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs from employees, prospective employees, and government agencies.
  • Ensure all regional practices is compliant with Health and Safety and environmental Protection statutory requirements.
  • Ensure ISO guidelines are followed for HR related practices where applicable.

Specific HR support to Mold- Masters:

  • Functions as a business partner to the Mold-Masters leadership team, providing guidance and counsel and acts as a conduit for organizational feedback, including areas of coaching, associate performance, and managing risk. 
  • Manage Mold-Masters Human Resources operational budget.
  • Manage HR related document submission in support of the annual financial audits and related compliance requests.
  • Manage all administrative services (ie. transportation, canteen, cleaning, security reception, landscaping etc.) efficiently and cost effectively, ensuring quality of standards and work.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or human Resources
    • Minimum of 7 years HR working experience with at least 3 -5 years of team leading.
    • Experience in an international company with 5000+ employees in manufacturing industry or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Possess excellent judgment, deep understanding of HR principles and practices, demonstrated leadership and business acumen.
  • Bi-lingual Chinese and English
  • Proven ability of developing/identifying top talent and drive change/transformation.
  • Support business objectives while creating a positive human resource culture in the company
  • Experience with working in large companies who operate globally required
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, managing multiple priorities
  • Experience using MS Office Products

Travel

  • Regular and frequent travel to our offices in Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuxi
  • International travel may be required up to 15%.
