Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Principal Lead, Grant Operations will be responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), which includes all applications and awards for external sponsored funding for the Albany division of the corporation.  The incumbent will lead and oversee activities to ensure compliance with Corporate, Federal and sponsor guidelines. In addition, the incumbent will lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and associated trainings related to the OSP operational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years in sponsored research administration, including management responsibilities; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and seven years of such experience; OR nine years of such experience.  A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree/certificate in Research Administration and/or Public Health, Certified Research Administrator (CRA) Certification and/or three years’ experience in the preparation and submission of grant applications.  Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in electronic grant administration, and experience handling multiple priorities.  Supervision of staff. Familiarity with OMB circulars and FAR regulations. 

Conditions of Employment

Management/Confidential position.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.

This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
