Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to spearhead our sales efforts and build a high-performing sales team from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, a proven track record of team building, and a passion for driving revenue growth. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, recruiting and mentoring top sales talent, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Building and Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and lead a dynamic sales team, including New Business Sales, Account Executives, Business Development Representatives, and Sales Support staff.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular coaching and feedback to ensure team members meet or exceed sales targets.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the sales team.
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and market trends.
- Collaborate with senior management to define sales objectives and set achievable targets.
- Sales Execution and Performance Management:
- Oversee the sales process, from lead generation and pipeline management to negotiation and closing deals.
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics and KPIs to track team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for growth.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Address customer needs and concerns promptly and effectively to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute lead generation campaigns and sales materials.
- Coordinate with the product development team to provide market feedback and drive product enhancements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales compensation plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferably in [Your Industry].
- Proven success in building and leading high-performing sales teams.
