We are seeking a Class Actions & Proxy Team Lead to manage our Class Actions & Proxy Team within Institutional Investment Management Operations located in Pune, India. Describe the role:
The Class Actions/Proxy Team Lead is a key role for our firm providing support to our clients in monitoring and analyzing class action and proxy voting events. The role requires a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding class actions and proxy voting, as well as experience in financial analysis and reporting. The role also requires the ability to work with internal and external teams, including third-party vendors and custodians. The Team Lead will manage a daily workflow for both class actions and proxy responsibilities. This includes resolving private client inquiries, ensuring the ad-hoc, monthly, and quarterly voting reports are submitted in a timely manner, daily reporting on unvoted proxy meetings, and quality checking AB proxy voting guidelines against third-party research. Class Actions responsibilities include monitoring and reviewing monthly filings, resolving deficiencies, data analysis and quality controls.
The AB India Class Actions Proxy Team Lead supports the U.S. Proxy team. The teams work together to manage and maintain proxy voting setup, provide, and maintain monthly/quarterly voting reports, ensuring all meetings voted by Proxy Team is approved after thorough analysis of research-advisement emails and AB Proxy manual. On the Class Actions side, the team is directly responsible for running trial balances, case certifications, and POOF Generation, Name and Address correction & review Class Action deficiencies.
The key job responsibilities include,
Provide the primary QC checking function for onshore performed PMG activities related to Class Actions.
Verify the meetings for which voting has been done by the Proxy Manager and confirm the accuracy as per the research provided by third parties-advisement emails-AB Proxy Manual and subsequently approving the same.
Provide subject matter expertise for the team; identify key issues with respect to the health of the Process like errors.
Ensure end-to-end process flows and other documentation of procedure guides are in place for the team.
Process training for new joiners to create a knowledge bank in the team.
Proactively anticipate and resolve queries issues arising from processes/ new joiners and resolve them or escalate them in a timely manner.
To assist the process Leaders in driving key initiatives like identifying process improvements.
Quality checking AB proxy voting guidelines against third-party research.
Daily reporting on unvoted proxy meetings.
People management including staff development and performance reviews.
Collaborate with our vendor, ISS.
Assist with regulatory reporting tasks.
