Markel is expanding its Anaplan platform and we need qualified candidates to take part in our growth! Anaplan is a cloud-based planning platform that promotes connective planning. As an Anaplan Solutions Analyst you will be trained as a model builder on the Anaplan solution. In this position, you will be working with the Anaplan Center of Excellence (COE) team to develop and support planning models that are designed to further Markel’s finance strategies. In this highly visible role, you will be leveraging Anaplan to deliver innovation to Markel’s global planning and forecasting processes. As a Solutions Analyst, working across multiple business units, you will responsible for establishing relationships to ensure that Anaplan is meeting the requirements of the various business functions to deliver on Markel’s FP&A vision. We are looking for people who are goal oriented and work well with others to achieve successful outcomes for our business partners.

Job Description

  • Support end users with models that are already in production, including troubleshoot and resolving defects, with guidance from experienced peers
  • Provide operational support through the management of weekly, monthly and annual processes
  • Participate in the strengthening and optimization of the Anaplan solution by develop new functionality and usability enhancements, with guidance from Senior Anaplan Analysts and team leads
  • Promote best practices and adherence to established governance and standards for development and implementation
  • Support user enablement and training for end users to achieve self-reliance on model development and uses
  • Collaborate with business partners to deliver innovation to Markel

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required- preference in finance, accounting, economics or management information systems is a plus

Certification

  • Anaplan or relevant experience a plus

Work Experience/Skill Set

  • Recent college graduate+ with financial, accounting or insurance experience
  • General understanding of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Eagerness to learn new technology and adhere to best practices
  • Demonstrate strong data analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong experience using advanced financial formulas to build complex financial models in MS Excel
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to building high-quality solutions
  • Articulate issues clearly and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills as part of a growing team
  • Previous experience with a budget and forecasting application a plus

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The national average salary for the Anaplan Solutions Analyst is $67,475 - $78,900 with 20% bonus potential.
