Our Business Banking serves over 10,000 medium to large Australian businesses with turnovers from $10M to $2.5B, offering tailored insights and solutions for growth.

The Client Acquisition (CA) team at CBA drives business development, supporting Commercial Banking, Major Client Group, and Regional & Agribusiness Banking. Specialising in new-to-bank customers, CA manages diverse sectors with lending needs from $10M to $150M and leads significant transactions, including M&A. Post-onboarding, clients transition to the Relationship teams, letting CA focus on new acquisitions.

As an Analyst in CA, each day brings unique challenges. You will handle complex transactions and be exposed to sophisticated commercial banking deals enhancing your financial expertise.
You will conduct research, analyse data, build a client/industry database and perform complex financial modelling, assess new lending risks, and evaluate credit risks to support the group’s growth.

Your role will also involve.

  • Conduct financial modelling and analysis for Regional & Agribusiness Banking clients.
  • Prepare credit submissions for new-to-bank transactions and manage deal execution, including documentation and funding.
  • Collaborate with Executives to understand customer needs and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Prepare and present pitches to potential clients including board level, business owners and senior management teams.
  • Fulfil reporting requirements, including pipeline leads, calls, contacts, and revenue tracking.
  • Partner with Product Specialists to meet client requirements effectively.

You will require:

  • Extensive experience in complex credit submissions, with strong financial analysis skills and expertise in interpreting 3-way financials, and structuring loans, securities, and financial products and strong excel skills.
  • Experience with diversified customers, cash flow lending, and debt of $10M+, including complex lending and corporate structures.
  • Experience in considering business and market risk, writing and analysing credit transactions.
  • Experience with credit structuring, legal documentation and excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting facilities with external lawyers and excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and patterns; we are in the business of winning and closing deals, and as such, sometimes additional hours may be required.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
