The Program Specialist (PS) for Non-Infectious Disease Programs implements public health projects in domestic and global settings. Implementation is done in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), donors and other internal and external partners. With discretion and professionalism, the PS is responsible for the coordinated management and support of projects directed toward the CDC Foundation’s strategic and business objectives. The PS will work with the Program Officer, Senior Program Officer and Field Employees in advancing the work of a subset of projects. Some of the projects that will be supported by the PS include:
-
The Overdose Prevention Indicators Project is developing a set of indicators for local communities to track and improve interventions and address health equity in prevention efforts. These indicators and related content will be available on a forthcoming website,
overdosemeasuresmatter.org.
- MDI Connect is a collaborative learning environment where medicolegal death investigation (MDI) offices, data sharing partners, vendors and FHIR® subject matter experts design, build, and test technical strategies to modernize MDI practices and work towards standards-based data exchange.
- Million Hearts® Alliance is a CDC Foundation-led public-private coalition to help accelerate CDC’s Million Hearts® Initiative toward its goal of preventing one million heart attacks and strokes. The alliance produces consumer-focused awareness campaigns and behavior change programs to complement CDC’s focus on clinicians.
Each of these projects is supported by technical assistance and advising from the CDC.
