Role Overview:

As the Director, Product Design, you shape the future of our platform by driving new initiatives and setting a high standard of excellence across the core product design organization. You oversee the design efforts across our suite of Job Execution products (selling jobs, doing jobs, getting paid, etc.) and Revenue products (get customers, manage leads, communicate, etc.), ensuring a cohesive and impactful experience for our service professionals (our Pros). You collaborate closely with Design, Product, and Engineering leaders to develop best-in-class products and innovative solutions that not only meet current customer needs but also lay the foundation for long-term success. 

You report to the Chief Product Officer and help grow the design organization by partnering with the VP of Product Design to establish best practices, provide coaching and mentorship, and lead team-building activities. What you do each day:  

  • Define the design strategy for your designated areas - currently  Job Execution and Revenue (subject to change)
  • Collaborate with key partners including Product and Engineering
  • Strategize on roadmaps and priorities with key cross-functional leaders
  • Ensure strong design practices from concept to launch, resulting in high quality, polished launches
  • Model strong communication skills and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Leverage data and research investigations to build strong points of view on product direction
  • Collaborate directly with the other product design Leaders to ensure a coherent single Housecall Pro experience, beyond your primary product & feature areas
  • Spearhead critical efforts to improve process, craft and execution
  • Mentor, inspire, and grow members of the larger product design team

 

Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years of experience successfully shipping products and features from start to finish
  • 5+ years leading teams of designers
  • Experience with current design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with the application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design

  • Expert in best practices in UX, design, and information architecture across responsive Web, iOS & Android
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building a business
  • Able to effectively communicate design solutions to all audiences, inclusive of executive leadership & the C-suite
  • Strong project planning, time management, and collaboration skills
  • Deep understanding of business goals and outcomes by leveraging data analytics, user testing, and research to inform and validate design decisions

Location Dependent Information

This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $135,000-$168,000 Base + Bonus + Equity. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
