As a Principal Data Platform Product Manager within the Enterprise Data Office, you will be a key leader in the Data Platform team, an established team within Capital Group driving the implementation of industry-leading data management products and capabilities.
You will drive, define, manage, and deliver a portfolio of critical data platform products that accelerate data time to market, significantly improve data accessibility, enable effective data governance, improve data quality, and deliver a data self-service experience for key personas across the firm.
We’re looking for an ambitious, creative, attentive, and resilient product leader that can solve difficult and broad data problems, working with a variety of stakeholders across business, technology, operations, privacy, risk.
The product leader will oversee a team of product managers, UX designers and will partner with engineers and other product leaders to deliver our platform product suite.
Additionally, this product leader is responsible for owning the strategic narrative that stakeholders and customers look to as their “North Star”. Evangelism, transparent management of progress, and competitive intelligence are all tools that this product leader uses to keep all relevant resources aligned and marching toward the “North Star”.

You have demonstrated that you can think, act, and deliver both strategically and tactically – you are a creative problem solver that focuses on solving tangible business outcomes, commensurate to the magnitude and importance of the problem.
You have been successful in defining, selecting, and implementing data management capabilities - data discovery, governance, quality, preparation, storage, integration, security, privacy, risk, and access – serving a variety of data consumers from data creators, data consumers, and data stewards.
You have delivered products leveraging Artificial Intelligence and are well versed in how to prepare and manage data for variety of AI applications.
You have at least 7 years of experience in product management capacity – having delivered multiple mission critical products from inception to production and operational maintenance.
You are a self-starter with experience analyzing and understanding customer needs and translating those needs and requirements into product features and solution alternatives, applying critical thinking to enable trade-off conversations and decision-making.
You’ve been successful delivering high quality solutions in a complex, fast paced data environment.
You're perceived as a thought leader, and a trusted business partner.
Your appetite for customer data and analytical skills to extract value from them are superb. You have demonstrated success identifying and solving ambiguous problems.
You have proven ability identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs.
You have experience and fluency in delivering briefings and presentations on business needs and recommended solutions to leaders and key stakeholders within Business and IT
You are a respected people leader that is committed to developing and mentoring a high performing team.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $193,464-$328,889
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
