Mechanical Design Engineer - (2 Years Contract)

Our Sensors & Controls division, located in Stratford, ON, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team for a 2-years contract.

Under general direction, Plans technical projects in the design and development of CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, architecture and hardware limitations.

Your Challenge

  • Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters. Develops routines and utility programs.

  • Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.

  • May specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects and may evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.

  • Supports the Department's activities in mechanical design, materials science, environmental testing, reliability, and failure analysis.

  • Work with a variety of other geographically dispersed engineering disciplines to facilitate timely design, fabrication and deployment of subsystems products.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • +2 years product development or other engineering related area

  • Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews.

  • Ability to perform trade studies and design reviews.   

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and must be a team player.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office

  • Strong CAD Software skills for tool design.
