What will this role achieve?

This role is a 12-month FTC in the Commercialisation function, whose purpose is to 'lead cross functional collaboration to bring ideas and products to life' and broadly covers 4 key areas:

  • Process enablement

  • Cross-functional integration

  • Risk mitigation

  • Project portfolio consolidation

This role is responsible for the delivery, process management, governance & reporting of projects to bring new products and changes to existing products to market. Extraordinary execution is a core objective and result.

As well as an internal focus working on our iconic brands, this role may also have an external focus with regard to retailer own label (ROL) projects which involves forming relationships with customer contacts and gaining alignment to ROL projects and processes internally.

The role holder is responsible with the Commercialisation Controller for the delivery of projects to support the delivery of pladis growth targets. These projects can complex in terms of new technologies, high investment spend and inter-linkage with other projects.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Accountable for planning, governance and delivery on time, in full for projects approved through the pladis stage and gate process & commercialisation forum.

  • Process enablement is a key deliverable for the function and the Senior Project Manager.

  • Drive innovation & renovation projects through the gates

  • Own the process and timelines

  • Track and report on the progress / issues in an accurate and timely manner. Highlight compliance to plan, key issues and risks.

  • Understand Retailer processes and systems and how they interlink with pladis stage and gate to ensure that project deliverables are met for the Retailer/ customer and pladis

Risk Mitigation:

  • Identify projects at risk

  • Remove obstacles quickly and efficiently

  • Escalate when required, providing options, recommendation and impact should a decision be required

  • Implement mitigation measures

  • Ensure tight control of project scope, action standards and guard rails , with clear approval process through Commercialisation for any change & subsequent updates and where appropriate alignment with the Retailer.

  • Arbitrate and resolve conflict and interface problems within individual projects. Assure timely adaptive action is taken.

  • Resolve resource issues through prioritisation process & stakeholder alignment.

  • Be a business guide on key project management systems and processes internally and externally.

  • Identify, propose, lead & drive improvements in performance / ways of working with functional key stakeholders.

  • Leads the communication matrix cross functionally.

  • Over arching responsibility to ensure Project Executive(s) cross functionally lead and deliver all artwork to plan, including smooth transition when changing sku’s or codes, mitigating any existing packaging write off.

  • Ensure initiatives with interdependencies are identified, communicated & aligned through the process e.g. outside of the UK/other markets, Brand and Own Label when product and/or material changes will affect.

What do you need for this role?

Essential

  • Project Management experience

  • Expert within at least one area of the business e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Procurement or Technical

  • FMCG experience

  • Commercial acumen & P&L understanding.

  • Strong communication skills and cross functional team working

  • Leadership – ability to influence

  • Tenacity & resilience

  • Attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience working across more than one function or field preferable

  • Formal project management qualification e.g. Prince

  • Broad understanding of pladis business processes across all relevant areas eg. Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance
