We are looking for you to join our team as a Director Supply Chain 1 for the Logistics Center located in Baltimore, MD. The Logistics Center is responsible for material receipts, inventory management, manufacturing kit fulfillment, and processing of material requisitions.
The Director is responsible for oversight of Logistics Center, warehousing and distribution supporting Northrop Grumman Mission Systems manufacturing at the Baltimore site. Those responsibilities include cost management, staffing, operational efficiency, and productivity of the logistics centers.
What you will get to do:
- Create a vision for world class inventory management
- Direct the planning and execution of strategic funds (capital and expense) for capital equipment and machinery improvement and expansion, as well as logistics activities.
- Financial management including knowledge and understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), rates and budgets, overhead budgets supporting manufacturing activities.
- Utilize MRP, Scheduling, and planning tools to resolve competing priorities, and maintain clear communication with customers regarding operations.
- Develop logistics and inventory strategies to include inventory analysis, layout and physical inventory roadmap, and auditing the accurate account of inventory management.
- Strategic development of programs and projects, which involves establishing targets, deliverables, and timelines, developing and executing to the plan.
- Oversee site receiving, inventory management, kitting and logistics of a complex and diverse product portfolio within cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Lead and execute strategy for continuous improvement initiatives through SQDCM and tools associated with root cause and corrective actions, and championing implementation of the system leadership principals.
- Act as the primary interface for logistics center warehouse and kitting operations with executive leadership inclusive of the Vice President of Operations and Site Leadership.
- Lead a complex, engaged team of exempt and non-exempt leaders and individual contributors to support manufacturing deliverables collaboratively with the internal and external organizations.
- Be responsible for recruiting & mentoring future leaders, directing training & skill development initiatives and promoting Engagement & Inclusion activities.
- Collaborate with other functional support organizations (Production Control, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, Material Control, Human Resources, Labor Resources, Product Engineering, etc.) to build an integrated and dynamic organization focused on internal and external customer results.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively manage time to ensure the highest levels of organizational performance and required results, as well as a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. They will possess excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills and will have effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Basic Qualifications for Director Supply Chain 1:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of formal people leadership experience with operations organizations
- Experience with manufacturing processes, planning, and executing with a sense of urgency
- Experience with earned value, proposal development, manufacturing metrics, and SAP
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications for Director Supply Chain 1:
- Experience with logistics management software, data analysis tools, and ERP systems
- Experience managing large scale warehouse operations
Salary Range: $171,400.00 - $257,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
