We are seeking a Senior Spares Planner who will play a crucial role in ensuring effective management of spare parts inventory, coordination of system returns/refurbs, and supporting new product introduction (NPI) spares strategy.

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate demand forecasts, defining stocking level strategies, managing work orders for spares production, coordinating system returns with field service activities, and overseeing the refurbishment process.

The role requires proactive engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize inventory levels, streamline logistics, and ensure timely resolution of supply chain issues.

What you will be doing:

  • Spares Planning:
    • Develop and maintain spares forecast/demand plans.
    • Define planning methods (e.g., min-max, safety stock, forecast-based).
    • Establish target stocking level strategies.
    • Update forecasts based on actual consumption.
    • Set up MRP and master data.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain and report inventory levels across all stock locations.
    • Manage work order activities for spares production.
    • Implement processes for returning high-value spares from the field.
    • Coordinate warranty claims with suppliers for high-value spares.

  • System Return and Refurbishment:
    • Coordinate replacements for field service activities (repair vs. new).
    • Serve as a point of escalation for system RMA and replacements.
    • Initiate reverse logistics
    • Coordinate vendor RMAs
    • Manage internal repairs.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing on repair vs. refurbishment decisions.

  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Escalate and resolve field supply chain issues.
    • Prioritize service based on material lead times and availability.
    • Track and analyze material consumption trends.

  • Change Management:
    • Review engineering change orders (ECOs) affecting spare parts.
    • Conduct change impact analysis and communicate impacts via Change Control Board.
    • Ensure hardware compatibility for spare parts.

  • Assist in developing and executing NPI spares strategy.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in spare parts planning, inventory management, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems and inventory control methods.
  • Experience in coordinating system returns, refurbishments, and warranty processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of field service operations and logistics.
  • Familiarity with medical device or semiconductor industry.
  • Project management experience.

Below is the base pay range for this full time position.  The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.  This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.  Your 10x recruiter can share more about the Company’s total compensation package during the hiring process.
