The Technical Support Analyst is a Tier 3 technical support position tasked with investigating complex escalated issues that Tier 2 is unable to resolve. This position will work closely with Engineering and Software Development to ensure proper hardware and software functionality. Some customer interaction is required with this role as well and as such, excellent communication skills are also required.
Job Duties:
Work with product development teams for the purpose of representing customers needs to assure seamless product adoption.
Work with product development teams to become familiar with the technology being developed and understanding the real world capabilities and limitations of their application.
Provide necessary details to Engineering and Technical support as the customer issues are being understood and resolved.
Act as the liaison between Engineering, Technical Support, Product Marketing, and customers to mitigate product field issues and satisfactory customer resolution.
Investigate/document potential bugs (evaluate data logs, write scripts to extract data, resolve or escalate, and document in JIRA).
Review all technical support JIRA entries (identify and consolidate duplicates, validate type and priority, and investigate or escalate).
Process technical support tier 2 JIRA entries (reprocess missed messages, move endpoints, extract gateway logs, and initiate firmware updates).
Increase knowledge of databases and scripting (Linux/MySQL), cloud based platforms (AWS/Azure/SAP), and Badger Meter products (BEACON).
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, information technology, or database analysis required
5+ years of related experience in Information Technology preferred
Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of databases and ability to manipulate data without affecting the integrity of the system required
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SQL required
Intermediate skills in DB Scripts required
Intermediate knowledge of cloud-based software platforms and the challenges associated with supporting numerous customers that are not technically astute preferred
Intermediate knowledge of the limitations of private and public RF networks and the physics around RF propagation preferred
Intermediate skills in JIRA preferred
