You can expect to work closely with our strategy team, business units, and portfolios on a variety of data-driven projects that guide strategic planning and investment decisions. The ideal candidate is someone who i) loves conducting research and synthesizing data into actionable insights; ii) prefers working in a small, highly collaborative team; and iii) able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing time and priorities. The strategy team is a relatively new department in our portfolio but is fast-growing and driven, providing ample opportunities for progression for the right person.

The Position

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting market research and data analysis to support organic growth projects by synthesizing information from various sources, and extracting key insights into clear and concise summaries

  • Performing in-depth industry, trend, and market analysis to assess niche markets and shape business strategies

  • Completing thorough market sizing of niche markets by compiling and validating lists of firms for TAM/SAM/SOM segmentation and highlighting trends within current customer base

  • Conducting primary research for live M&A transactions, including market sizing, industry trends, and competitor analysis

  • Assisting ongoing maintenance of competitor data and industry trends to inform strategic planning and support sales

  • Leveraging research to create clear and compelling content for newsletters and blogs on topics such as industry insights, global economics, pricing strategies, and new developments in B2B sales

  • Curating relevant news stories for target markets and presenting them in a clear, digestible format for senior leaders

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong performance in an undergraduate degree (preferably business, engineering, mathematics, or economics)

  • Intellectually curious, and a self-starter with excellent organizational skills who can take ownership and get work done effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment 

  • Genuine interest in conducting research, synthesizing information, and continuous learning

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing

  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented

  • Experience with web scraping and automating data collection processes is an asset

  • Extremely comfortable working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Occasional international travel may be required

Selected applicants will be required to complete a small assignment as part of the interview process.

Interview process will be 3 rounds (initial HR screen, interview with Hiring Manager, interview with M&A and Strategy Director)
