The Associate Accountant role prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements using accounting principles.   This role demands effective communication skills, a strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach to tackle roadblocks and ensure operational excellence and a commitment to best practice. The Associate Accountant will work alongside other experienced accounting personnel to gain knowledge of the business and the technologies we use to produce accurate, timely, and relevant financial information.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Follows standard operating procedures to ensure compliance 

  • Executes daily general ledger accounting operations 

  • Reconciles accounts in month end closing process  

  • Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities 

  • Supports and executes internal controls

  • Coordinates accounting matters with peers

  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Assists with the preparation of reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial position

  • Supports the coordination of financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of working GL experience, shared service center is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud and other cloud-based Oracle solutions or similar ERP platforms
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Accountability to protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
