Job Description Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, this position has overall responsibility for day-to-day department operations including line officers and supervisors for a site. He/She is accountable for developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures and coordinating activities between shifts and campuses. Work with the Director to develop a team approach to problem solving, accountabilities and staff development. Responsibilities include: overseeing line-staff personnel functions, patrol operations, and providing liaison with outside law enforcement, compliance, and fire agencies. This position has a key leadership role in the Hospital's crisis management program. The Site Manager is authorized by the President and Chief Medical Officer to take immediate action to resolve or abate significant safety issues in the absence of the Director.Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications include: Valid state driver’s license, Minimum of eighteen (18) years old, Have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), Must provide proof of insurance, if applicable - High School or GED - OPOTA - Ohio Peace Officer Training

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
3 to 5 years of law enforcement security management or equivalent Experience ; knowledge of local, state, federal and Healthcare laws; possess strong interpersonal skills; demonstrates exceptional customer service qualities; maintains strong written and verbal communication skills; holds current OPOTA Peace Officer Certification and or Private security firearms Certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire); basic knowledge of computer related programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; and must possess a current State Driver's License.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor's Degree ; previous experience as a safety and/or security manager; familiarity with complex budgeting; extensive knowledge of computer related operations such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; excellent public speaking capabilities; strong leadership skills; knowledge of access control and CCTV systems; strong belief in the importance of relationship building; and demonstrated abilities to interact positively with people with varying backgrounds and experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Under the direction of the Director, makes decisions and provides direction to Protective Services associates; including scheduling, evaluations, performance management, training, authorizes overtime, completes payroll, responds to Midas complaints, and other managerial functions. Acts with the authority of the Director, Senior Director, or Vice President in their absence or as assigned. Develops campus specific processes. Oversees the production of written documentation and records to ensure quality. 2.

Assists in corrective planning of security and safety vulnerabilities: reviews hospital departments for security breaches and safety hazards and takes immediate action as necessary; submits recommendations and preventative plans, plans and recommends changes in work practices and procedures as needed. Investigates complaints and incidents, documents corrective action. Participates in safety and security committees and functions as department liaison at assigned locations. 3.

Responds and coordinates department and hospital response to routine and emergency incidents and crisis situations. Establishes direction for line staff and staffs an emergency command center as needed. In the absence of the Director, ensures proper notification of administration and outside agencies and oversees resolutions of the incident with the overall safety/security of the hospital and community in mind. 4.

Is responsible for preparation of monthly and annual reports pertaining to security related issues, gathers information for these reports from interior and exterior sources in order to track trends and evaluate any security vulnerabilities. 5.

Functions as a mentor for shift supervisors and staff. Conducts scheduled meetings designed to promote open dialog and assist the supervisors in growing their skill sets including mentoring officers.
