Role purpose

Reporting to the Finance Manager within the External Reporting team, you will be responsible for the preparation of accurate accounting information for financial and management reporting purposes, and assistance in the provision of technical accounting advice to support reporting and strategic decision making. You will be part of a high-performing team, where knowledge sharing and teamwork are inherent in everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and analysis to support the provision of technical accounting advice to various internal stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of the Group’s Financial Reports and other reporting requirements, including compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with external auditors to support the year-end and half-year audit processes.
  • Support the preparation of key papers to Audit Committee and other committees of senior management.
  • Interpret, analyse, and explain financial results to assist in the preparation of financial analytics of the consolidated results and/or other financial information.
  • Performing certain month-end processes as part of the Group’s monthly consolidation and financial control procedures.
  • Performing certain half-yearly assessments to support the Vicinity Group's ASX reporting requirements.
  • Other ad hoc tasks and project work from time to time, to support the Group’s strategic initiatives.

Capability and Experience

  • You will be a senior finance professional with experience in statutory reporting of a complex group structure and, listed entities. Ideally you will be coming from a chartered background, with experience in a professional firm.
  • You will have experience in dealing with complex technical accounting considerations, frameworks and transactions.
  • You will have an analytical mind with strong commercial acumen and great attention to detail.  
  • You will be highly organised with the ability to manage competing demands, to set out priorities and prepare work plans to achieve set objectives and targets.
  • You will be able to effectively communicate and build working relationships with a range of stakeholders, and proactively take the initiative where needed.  
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA/CA qualified or in the process of obtaining qualification.
  • Experience in an A-REIT will be highly regarded but not essential.
