The Senior Treasury Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accounting records of multiple legal entities. This includes preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, financial statements, regulatory reports, and variance analyses within Global Financial Reporting. The Senior Treasury Accountant also prepares the department’s Form 10Q/K contributions and handles ad hoc requests/projects. Additionally, this role involves running reports and gathering data to support the rest of the group.
Process system generated journal entries for cash equivalents, investments, debt and related income statement activities.
Determine, prepare and post corrected journal entries.
Keep track of investment transactions and product launch, and provide daily summary to the group
Monthly Responsibilities:
Prepare reconciliation between general ledger and reports from source systems.
Prepare month-end support schedules for various legal entities as a part of the month-end close process.
Prepare consolidated and entity-level income statement and balance sheet variance analyses and supporting schedules.
Prepare accounting classification analyses for new and existing investments for assigned legal entities
Prepare detailed FX analysis for foreign currency transactions.
Run various reports and queries for the group
Gather and summarize data for analysis (e.g. ownership % calculation, FX analysis, investment impairment, return of capital) for the group
Gather and store various statements, including bank statements, capital statements and investment portfolio reports for the group
Periodic Responsibilities:
Prepare contributions to the Form 10Q/K filings, such as debt disclosure, debt cash flows schedule, non-consolidated variance interest entities disclosures, fair value disclosure for cost method investments, sponsored investment product purchase/liquidation report
Assist with validation of system-generated foundation data for 10Q/K reporting
Assist with annual confirmation of investments and cash equivalents.
Provide tax schedules and support to Global Tax department
Assist with fulfilling requests from external and internal auditors and the SOX 404 compliance team
Other Responsibilities:
Liaise with the Corporate Treasury Operations team, cash team and other colleagues within the group for assigned legal entities
Participate in departmental projects and cross-departmental projects
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
CA/CA Inter
5 to 8 years of corporate accounting/ Treasury accounting/Investment accounting experience.
Experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger is required.
Proficiency in Excel and Word is required.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP required.
Knowledge and exposure to international accounting issues, currency translation and consolidations preferred.
Prior experience working for a US multinational corporation preferred.
Asset management industry experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
Ability and eagerness to learn fast and willingness to ask questions
