We are looking for driven and talented individuals to join the Retail Banking Services (RBS) Lending Line 1 Risk Centre of Excellence (COE). You will be part of a high-performing team supporting our business with empowering our customers to achieve their goals and dreams in managing their cash flows, facilitating seamless and safe purchases, and home ownership.
As a Manager, you will be responsible for providing timely and pragmatic risk advice and guidance to your Consumer Finance (CF) stakeholders. You will proactively identify opportunities to reduce risk as well as assess and manage risks to the Domain that arise from changes, incidents, issues and control assessments. You will work closely with stakeholders across RBS and the Group, build sound knowledge of CF products and processes, and ensure the business is aligned with the Group's frameworks and standards.
On any given day, you will:
Pre-empt risks, gaps and opportunities, and illuminate the path to pragmatic solutions to ensure CF customer experiences are delivered with efficiency and excellence
Deliver comprehensive operational risks insights/advisory to aid strategic decision-making that delivers exceptional products and services
Manage and advise on all elements of non-financial risk frameworks to ensure risks, obligations, issues, incidents, breach reporting, and risk and control self-assessments are accurate, meet framework requirements and are of the highest quality to drive timely resolution, rectification, remediation and improvement to the risk profile
Facilitate effective risk governance, including leading or participating in scrum meetings with Crew Leads and Product Owners to ensure key risk items are prioritised
Support CF with managing third party risk to deliver on CF’s strategic objectives and manage impacts to the CF risk profile
Uphold ethical conduct and compliance by understanding relevant regulatory obligations and ensuring we take reasonable steps to deliver quality customer outcomes
Lead a proactive risk and control culture, ensuring embedment with key project stakeholders and business representatives
Work collaboratively with the wider risk team to deliver best practice risk advice across the business
Establish performance metrics and reporting for Line 1 Risk and drive data quality in various systems (including RiskInSite and Jira) relevant to enable RBS-wide risk reporting
Identify opportunities to improve operational risk processes
We’d love to hear from people who have
Understanding and working experience in operational and compliance risks within financial services
Knowledge of Consumer Finance or retail lending products, processes and systems
Strong reasoning and influencing skills to work with senior stakeholders
Experience in performing reviews of critical processes to identify what can go wrong, control gaps/weaknesses and/or optimisation opportunities is desirable
Ability to analyse trends, identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose problems and issues, and recommend appropriate actions
Well-developed written communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively
Ability to independently deliver for large projects and initiatives in a fast-paced, shifting environment
Willingness to lean in and contribute to a high-performing team culture
