The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including:

  • Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc.

  • Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.

  • Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project.

  • May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.

  • May require the following proficiency: Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of GIS Base design documents i.e. GSLD/Layout etc. according to the Work package requirement.

  • To understand and generate the engineering documents as per customer specifications like wallboard, poster drawings, maintaining & Device making plan document.

  • To involve in Departmental Activities like Daily Scrum meeting, Monthly meetings etc.

  • To deliver work packages within defined time and with high quality.

  • Continuously identify the area of improvements in the processes and tools and implement new ideas.

  • Create Transportation unit drawing as per the project requirements.

  • Lessons Learnt shall be continuously followed and shared with in the team.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering /Diploma in Electrical.

  • Having minimum 2 to 7 years of experience in CAD design tools (Creo / AutoCAD, 3D competence required) Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.

  • Should have knowledge on High Voltage products.

  • Having knowledge on SAP will be preferred.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
