Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership position is located in Melbourne, FL.

This is a dual role Section Manager and Cyber Systems Engineering position where you will be responsible for a team of 15-20 as functional management Section Manager within the Test & Evaluation (T&E) Directorate as well as a business/process lead. 

This position is for first shift; however, if the need arises the successful candidate may be placed on second shift or weekend shift, additional compensation applies to alternate shifts.

Functional Role Responsibilities include:

  • Build a culture that empowers and motivates individual excellence

  • Help the team understand the Test and Evaluation (T&E) organization's vision and principles and establish functional homeroom shared accountability for program/project performance. 

  • Work closely with the Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (incident investigations, metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting performance goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.

This person will be responsible for the business and process management of the technical work as well as the people who will be doing the technical work within the program.  Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Demonstrate Experience as a Scrum Master and Product Owner

  • Institutionalize and execute using Collaboration Tools where experience with Atlassian products (primarily: JIRA and Confluence) wil be key

  • Prior experience as a Control Account Management (CAM) and Workload Forecasting (WLF)

  • Experience generating Bill of Material (BOM) /Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM)

  • Exposure to and past experiences in DevOps Engineering Processes

  • Institutionalize and execute Metric Development (System utilization, workflow forecasting)

  • Knowledge of project management principles and execution

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering OR a Master's degree of Science in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering OR 5 years with Phd

  • Must have experience with building and leading an effective and collaborative team.

  • Must have current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE before starting role

  • Must have prior manager/lead experience.

  • Must have a current in scope DoD Secret security clearance with full investigation completed within the last 6 years.

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of relevant experience OR 5 years and a PhD

  • Active Top-Secret clearance

  • Six Sigma, PMP or like process-oriented training or cert

  • Experience working with DevOps Processes and Cloud Infrastructure

  • Minimum 5 years of systems administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments.

  • VMware environment experience and certification

  • Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability

  • Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication and migration.

Salary Range: $131,200.00 - $196,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
