We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health

The mission of Komodo Health's People Operations Manager is to support the growth and efficient operations of our organization. This role is a true generalist, responsible for advising on, creating, and driving the adoption of policies and processes that create an outstanding Dragon experience.

This role will report to the People Ops Director as part of our People team at Komodo Health. You will partner closely with stakeholders to handle a wide range of HR and administrative-related tasks. You will provide day-to-day support and contribute to the achievement of organizational efficiency through direct management of multiple People Operations functions (immigration, HRIS, compliance reporting, onboarding, offboarding, etc.).

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Ensured that Komodo was compliant with employment regulations by creating and maintaining proper policy documentation, identifying and delivering against training needs, and partnering with our Legal and Finance teams on compliance needs.
  • Served as the primary point of contact and thought leader on Komodo Health’s benefits offerings, including managing the open enrollment process, educating Dragons on their benefits and perks, and advising Leadership on best practices to create a top-notch benefits offering.
  • Served as an evangelist for Komodo’s comprehensive philosophies, approaches, and overall People Operations strategies; developed and led communications through a variety of channels (in-person, email campaigns, general documentation) providing our Dragons with easy access to the answers they need the most.
  • Upheld a high standard for data maintenance as a member of the People Team by taking full responsibility for our employee data, ensuring accuracy, reducing administrative burden, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Supported the execution of people-related activities across the entire employee lifecycle, including on-boarding, off-boarding, training, and support for general employee questions.
  • Owned the entire Leave of Absence Process, end-to-end support.
  • Streamlined the immigration questionnaires and support.
  • Helped track the People Ops yearly budget.

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities...

  • Provide day-to-day support for HR activities such as employee benefits, leave of absence, compliance, and reporting in the U.S. and our international work locations (including, but not limited to, France and India)
  • Drive workflow efficiency by identifying opportunities for improvement and closely collaborating with other internal teams.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and communication of policies and procedures across the entire People Ops function.
  • Support managers and People teams with system updates, processing job changes, reporting needs, and other operational changes in Workday and other people-related systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all immigration-related and leave of absence-related processes and questions. Proactively identify ways to streamline and create templates.
  • Become a subject matter expert on People processes and tools to manage those processes. Become an expert of understanding how our business units function and how the pieces fit together. Serve as an internal escalation point for complex inquiries amongst People team peers.
  • Own compliance programs including SOC2 compliance, 401K audits, mandatory filings, policy updates, and employee training for Workday and Sequoia (benefits broker).
  • Create and maintain SOPs for Workday HCM/Benefits and other people processes
  • Assess and make recommendations for continued process improvement and continued employee experience improvements for onboarding and offboarding
  • Create goals for the team and yourself for each quarter.
  • Be a strong backup for your teammates when they are OOO or need your support.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience managing benefits programs, including working with external vendors, managing open enrollment, and partnering with internal teams to drive communications.
  • Generalist Experience - 7+ years of direct experience supporting high-growth populations of 400+ employees as an HR or People generalist, specifically with exposure to US immigration and visa processes.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in HR compliance, leaves of absence, and employment law; you’ve created company-wide policies from scratch and keep a close pulse on regulations and best practices.
  • A keen attention to detail, with the ability to design processes and workflows that reduce administrative burden and increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience with Workday, reviewing business processes, completing job changes, and creating reports.
  • Understand people-related metrics and have comfort with using data as an input to decision-making.
  • A learning mindset, growth orientation, intellectual honesty, pride in delivering the wow, and a belief in enjoying the ride (behaviors aligning with Komodo’s values).
